OLIO ROI

Olio Roi is a small business owned by Franco, Paolo, and Daria Boeri Roi, producers of the excellent Taggiasca PDO Riviera Ligure – Riviera dei Fiori EVO, in Badalucco (IM).

The Boeri family has been producing olive oil since 1900, but the Roi brand was born in the 1980s from Franco’s idea. Fed up with the bulk selling of such a precious product as Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil, he decided to replace the name of the Azienda (Boeri Giuseppe – his father) with Roi, the family nickname, to bottle his oil and sell it in Italy and abroad.

After the 1968 season, some hippie communities lived in the Argentina Valley. Many young people from Holland and Germany moved to the Badalucco area. Franco had now decided on a new strategy for his business idea, all that was missing was a label.

Inspired by the family nickname, he and one of his hippie friends created the first bottle and label: the beginning of what would become a small but prestigious Italian business.

Today, Roi exports to 24 countries worldwide and is the official EVO of the Eataly retail outlets. Still owned by the Roi family (Franco, Rossella, Daria, and Paolo), the Azienda continues to grow year after year always following its primary objective: “promoting the Taggiasca olive in all its forms”.
