COOPERATIVA AGRICOLA RURALE ISOLA DI BORGONOVO

The Cooperativa Agricola Rurale of Isola di Borgonovo, in the municipality of Mezzanego, was founded on 27 July 2005 to promote the products of the area, in particular the manufacture of high-quality extra virgin olive oil.

The mill has three continuous water-saving phases, six temperature-controlled crushers and a capacity of up to fifteen quintals of olives per hour.

Among the different types of oil, there is the DOP Riviera del Levante evo oil, obtained from olives picked in the olive groves managed by the Cooperativa; it is mainly composed of olives of the Lavagnina variety, related to the Taggiasca of the Ponente.

PDO EVO is a milestone for this small cooperative, which has recently become increasingly active in the area, recovering abandoned hazelnut groves and producing products based on excellent local ingredients.
