AZIENDA AGRICOLA ORSEGGI

Azienda Orseggi was founded in 1997 with a surface area of just over two hectares.

It was one of the first olive growers to register its olive groves with the PDO Riviera Ligure Riviera di Levante Oil Control and Certification System and immediately began pruning and clearing the land.

According to cadastre maps, Orseggi” is the name of the parcel of land on which the farmhouse and stone oil mill are located. It seems to derive from ‘seggi’, a word in the Levante dialect referring to the dry stone walls that hold the land in place.

Since 1997, the Azienda has increased the area under olive trees, and the varieties grown are ‘lavagnina’ (related to ‘taggiasca’), typical of the area, ‘razzola’ and ‘rossese’, an indigenous variety.

Their extra virgin olive oil is a light, fruity EVO with hints of artichoke and almond.

The family business run by Silvio and Federica Raggio (who have experience as technical advisors) has an oil mill that processes only its olives to plan and better manage harvesting and production at close intervals.
