After a season of hard work, spring is the time of ritual yearly farming operations. Special care is dedicated to interventions which can help prevent the biennial “high yield/low yield” dichotomy – manuring and pruning once more prove essential for the purpose at hand.
Manuring took place in mid-March: humid soil, professional organic-mineral manure, highly solube in water, good percentages of organic material: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (slightly prevalent) and traces of boron to foster fruit setting.
Specific weather conditions (copious rains) have already favoured blossoming. Light pruning was carried out: careful handwork, hard yet essential.
