Stand-up comedian Dario Vergassola acts as the testimonial of 28 new experiences provided by 28 members of the PDO Riviera Ligure EVO Protection Consortium
“The trails of PDO Riviera Ligure EVO” complete an array of tastings, concerts, olive groves and mills visits, trekking and biking itineraries, educational activities and cultural events
An event-packed weekend (18th-19th June 2022) to promote the second edition of “Oliveti Aperti”, a national initiative designed by the Protection Consortium itself in cooperation with the Qualivita Foundation and the support of Regione Liguria. A celebration of one of the region’s excellences through the visit of its conic landscapes, shaped by those dry-stone walls which were recognized Unesco Heritage status in 2018.
Throughout Liguria, 28 members of the Protection Consortium will provide tourists a cornucopia of experiences centred on PDO Evo: tastings, concerts, olive groves and mills visits, trekking and biking itineraries, educational activities and cultural events.
New entries include Agriconcerts, herbal medicine workshops, an Aperitolio, Jazz concerts, bioenergy lessons and more, not to forget about a stunning trekking trail in the Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre in the Manarola area dedicated to traditional rural landscape. The Liguria Gourmet restaurant circuit will promote the “Pane e Olio” (i.e., bread and EVO) initiative.
The Protection Consortium and the Associazione Italiana Guide Ambientali Escursionistiche will also launch 13 new “Cammini dell’olio Riviera Ligure DOP”, hiking trails among olive farming landscapes completed by traditional tastings.
The event, which will also feature a press tour, has been promoted online, during the Giro d’Italia, as well as in Eataly shops in Milan and Turin and during the “Aspettando Oliveti Aperti” bike tour. Video and podcast contents will be shared via social media during the event. Partnership with the Agenzia “In Liguria” has also proved central.
Finally, the Protection Consortium has organised two debates on the issues of EVO and PDO economy: one dedicated to the new frontiers of oil tourism and a round table on PDO tourism.
