On occasion of the 2019 edition of the “Salone Agroalimentare di Finalborgo” (15th-17th March) the PDO Basilico Genovese Protection Consortium, the PDO Olio Riviera Ligure Protection Consortium and the Enoteca Regionale once more joined forces for a new appointment of “Assaggia la Liguria”, the project aimed at the promotion of Protected Designation products. “We offered consumers and professionals the opportunity to know the stories behind the products and the value of PDOs all along the supply chain – not to forget about their unique taste”, says Carlo Siffredi, President of the PDO Olio Riviera Ligure Protection Consortium. “Olive farming takes commitment and hard labour. During the event we informed visitors about the production techniques of PDO Riviera Ligure EVO, which are governed by strict regulations”.
Guided tastings were dedicated to the 3 subareas of the PDO Olio Riviera Ligure, to basil pesto and to Ligurian CDO wines. Food design expert Umberto Curti lead the “Destinazione DOP” seminars and presented a set of new, innovative experiential tourism projects focused on Ligurian PDOs.
Sessions, tastings and demos took place throughout the duration of the Salone.
“Assaggia la Liguria “ is a programme promoted by the PDO Basilico Genovese Protection Consortium, the PDO Olio Riviera Ligure Protection Consortium and the Enoteca Regionale. It is supported by Regione Liguria – RDP 2014-20.
