The ninth edition of OlioOfficina Festival, designed and managed by Luigi Caricato, took place on February 6th-8th in Milan (Palazzo delle Stelline).
“Oil of the people” was 2020’s theme. The catchphrase of Olio Officina Festival stating “seasonings for the palate and for the mind”, the presence of PDO Riviera Ligure EVO Portection Consortium coherently went “beyond the product” and underlined the role of the Ligurian territory and people – the people of oil.
On Saturday 8th, Luigi Caricato led a session on “oil tourism and its new regulations”, highlighting best practices from Liguria, Garda and Apulia.
Alessandro Giacobbe, Communication manager of the PDO Riviera Ligure EVO Protection Consortium, illustrated the “Oliveti aperti” project.
“The PDO Riviera Ligure EVO Protection Consortium anticipated that this year Oliveti Aperti will evolve into “Oliveti e Vigneti aperti” (Liguria, May 8th-10th) – underlines Carlo Siffredi, president of the PDO Riviera Ligure EVO Protection Consortium – a rich, second edition fit to attract and engage visitors in the exploration of authentic Liguria, far from common places. We raised the bar to encompass the whole territory”.
Laura Turri, president of the PDO Garda Consortium and Dario Carlino, the Assessore all’agricoltura of the Comune di Vieste both put forward their best practices on oil culture and events,
Liguria also starred in two workshops dedicated to the role of PDO Riviera Ligure EVO in pesto making (PDO Genoese Basil only, of course), led by Flavio Corazza and complete with oil tastings.
