From 9th to 12th May at the Old Port of Genoa, visitors to Slow Fish can learn more about the two designations of Ligurian origin: PDO Riviera Ligure Olive Oil and PDO Genoese Basil.
The joint Ligurian olive oil and basil stand and the presentations and tastings of the two certified products that will take place every day from 11:00 am to noon, will allow consumers to understand how to taste Ligurian olive oil and distinguish PDO Genoese Basil, appreciate the uniqueness of the two products and finally how to make true Genoese pesto with these two precious Ligurian ingredients.
“The joint activity of the two consortia in this important international event is symbolic but important. We believe that the right way to call attention to small niche products in Italy and internationally is through collaboration between institutions and the coordination of the promotional activities of the various subjects,” said Carlo Siffredi and Mario Anfossi, presidents of the PDO Riviera Ligure Olive Oil and PDO Genoese Basil protection consortia.
