Expo Riva Hotel 2016 in Riva del Garda is in its 40th edition and presents an outstanding programme, in keeping with its long-running status, an absolutely not-to-be-missed event for whoever works in hospitality and catering. This year’s edition takes place between 31 January and 3 February 2016. The DOP Riviera Ligure Olive Oil Protection Consortiumwill be there, thanks to an agreement with the Regional Union of Ligurian Chefs. A union set to grow over coming years and one that should form a part of a series of virtuous alliances in the name of oil. At Riva, the first appointment looks set to appeal. The Italian Federation of Chefs’ stand, in Pavilion B1/A27, at the lakeside fair. First up on 1st February, from 10 am to 6 pm, is the chairman of the Regional Union of Ligurian Chefs, Stefano Beltrame. A famous restaurateur from Finale Ligure, Beltrame will be presenting a cooking demonstration on using extra-virgin olive oil in catering, with a focus on DOP Riviera Ligure oil. The oil of his land, versatile, fruity and sweet. So sweet, in fact, that Beltrame will be preparing DOP Riviera Ligure oil ice cream. And there is more, because the Vice Chairman, Roberto Verta, the dynamic and imaginative personal chef, will then be presenting lemon gnocchetti with artichokes and Atlantic bonito. Balanced Mediterranean flavours, heightened by a persuasive oil like DOP Riviera Ligure. Beltrame from Savona and Verta from Imperia are the two stars of Ligurian catering. The event thus promises to represent the value of the “good cooks and outstanding products” theory, in this case chefs with ties to their local area, through DOP Riviera Ligure, certified and guaranteed.
