After the success of previous editions, the Liguria Region, Unioncamere Liguria, the Province of Genoa, the Genoa Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Lavagna, in cooperation with professional industry groups (CIA [Italian Farmers Association], Coldiretti and Confagricoltura), are organizing the seventh edition of the “Pesto e dintorni” show, which will be held from 7th to 9th October 2011 in the heart of Lavagna, in the old town centre and surrounding squares.
The goal of the show is to promote pesto and emphasize the versatility of this famous Ligurian sauce; after obtaining a protected designation of origin for its olive oil and Genoese basil, the Liguria Region intends to energetically promote this Ligurian specialty that is known throughout the world.
The show will also promote all Ligurian agro-alimentary products, including fish, produced in the area, becoming a not-to-be-missed event for a public that believes in the philosophy of getting to know an area through its quality products.
There will be tastings of DOP Riviera Ligure Olive Oil from the following olive growers:
