The PDO and PGI Protection Consortia network confirms its role as one of the pivots for the recovery of made in Italy.
The Qualivita Foundation launches the #decalogoDOP (i.e. PDO decalogue), a tool for the PDO and PGI world, presented during the “La comunicazione dei Consorzi di Tutela post Covid-19” WebMeeting: organized with Federdoc ande OriGIn Italia, it was attended by more than 200 representatives of the sector. 10 clear issues for a new, in-depth storytelling of Made in Italy and PDO/PGI unique features.
The instrument suits the institutional promotion of the quality agri-food and wine industry through a set of new values fit to meet the challenges set by Covid-19.
The economic value of the sector is proved by figures: € 16.2 billion production value and 9 export value (source: Rapporto Ismea-Qualivita 2019).
Furthermore, communication by Protection Consortia represents a strategic (and valuable) asset, analysed by the Qualivita Foundation. Communication relies on a varied array of tools, both nationally and internationally. “Figures are huge – stated Mauro Rosati, the Managing Director of the Qualivita Foundation, during the WebMeeting –. More than 56millions web users, 554 official websites. A stunning potential for across-the-board synergies fit to create and empower our value system and amplify the impact of institutional campaigns promoted by our Government and our Regioni. The Government should involve Consortia in its initiatives abroad, also with a view to promote territories”.
Creativity, innovation, safeguard, communinity, healthiness. “The decalogue confirms how PDO communication – underlines Carlo Siffredi, president of the PDO Riviera Ligure EVO Consortium – is addressed to consumers and communities, with an added productive and social value. Our Consortium has already been working for a long time on the themes of green tourism and the valorisation of cultural heritage. This is the time to integrate our efforts with European campaigns such as “Farm to Fork” to create a fair, healthy and ecological food system”.
