Training initiatives for Horeca profession
A new promotion project of the Protection Consortium targets the Horeca industry
The PDO Riviera Ligure Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Protection Consortium is launching a new valorisation project designed for the Horeca industry, one of the key business sectors of agri-food excellences.
The project aims at satisfying the quest for quality, excellence and distinction expressed by consumers: to this end, the Consortium supports relationships and exchanges between PDO producers and high-end restaurants and quality small scale retailers.
The programme includes three exclusive events organized in three of the capitals of Italian food: Milan, Turin and Parma. The “Qualità Certificata nell’Alta Cucina” (i.e. Certified quality in Haute Cuisine) campaign will take place in March (6th, 7th and 13th) respectively at the Tano passami l’olio restaurant in Milan, Les Petites Madeleines restaurant in Turin and the Osteria di Fornio in Fidenza (Province of Parma).
Three different settings – Milan innovative and dynamic, Turin creative and noble, Parma the welcoming capital of the “food valley” – and a common denominator: PDO Riviera Ligure EVO, interpreted by chef Gaetano Simonato who chose EVO as the cornerstone of his Milan restaurant (awarded one Michelin star) as well as of his successful publications.
Each event will feature technical tasting addressed to 20 professionals from different sectors – quality gastronomy, high end restaurants and retailers – selected by the Qualivita Foundation, which has been operating for more than 15 years at national level in the promotion and valorisation of PDO quality agri-food products. The events will be presented by Alberto Schieppati (editorial director of Artù – one of the leading magazines of the restaurant industry) – while the sensory analysis of the product will be lead by Luigi Caricato, oil expert of international renown.
Thanks to the Protection Consortium and to Regione Liguria – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020-, member producers will “seat at the tables”: five free stations per event will in fact provide businesses with the opportunity of presenting their own PDO EVO to an audience of high profile professionals (and demanding tasters).
This promotional strategy of the Consortium is fostered by an ad hoc communication campaign on food media designed by the Qualivita Foundation with the aim of creating high value positioning for PDO Riviera Ligure certified excellence: a product and a symbol for the whole region, as well as a driver for the economic, social and environmental development of the Ligurian Riviera.
