The Douja D’Or in Asti: an opportunity to bring together all the flavours of the regions of Italy. An increasingly sought after wine award, with a wide range of events within a panorama marked by high quality. Naturally also PDO Riviera Ligure – Riviera dei Fiori Extra extra-virgin olive oil will be playing a major part, this time during the “Tasting evenings”, organised by the Special Agency of the Asti Chamber of Commerce to present wines and typical products from the regions of Italy.
The date is set for 12 September, at Palazzo dell’Enofila, 45 Corso Felice Cavallotti, Asti, at 9 pm, where thanks to collaboration with the Imperia Chamber of Commerce, the sensory profile of PDO Riviera Ligure – Riviera dei Fiori oil will be presented alongside dishes that use this precious ingredient, prepared by the “Ruffini Aicardi” Hotel School in Taggia and accompanied by Douja d’Or prize-winning west Liguria wines.
The menu itself is sure to whet your appetite: the legendary brandacujon stockfish dish, with its historical links with Northern Europe and the Atlantic. Delicate ravioli stuffed with borage, a herb that grows naturally in vegetable gardens and terraces, served with walnut sauce made with PDO Riviera Ligure oil. Stuffed rabbit is a dish for special occasions, with the inimitable counterpoint offered by Taggiasca olives in brine. All this is rounded off with a delightful lemon mousse, another flavour rooted in the Riviera citrus growing tradition. In fact, such an evening is surely deserving of PDO Riviera Ligure oil, as the cornerstone of traditional western Liguria cuisine, in its most updated version.
