The Italian Song Festival of Sanremo is a February must for the music and entertainment industries. The Casino, the historical first seat of the Festival, still hosts important events such as the 8th edition of the Gran Gala della Stampa. On February 5th the Roof Garden hosted the gala evening, hosted by Antonella Salvucci and Marino Bartoletti and crowded by local authorities, singers, artists, musicians, models and – mostly – journalists. An excellent showcase opportunity for Ligurian gourmet excellences: PDO Riviera Ligure oil as well as pesto, made with PDO Genoese Basil and wine from “Cantine Lunae Bosoni” of Ortonovo (SP). In a climate of cultural exchange and regional valorisation, Liguria and Piedmont played the lead role in the kitchen thanks to chefs Sergio Sartor, Luca Collami, Ersilio Montella and Maurizio Berisso. It comes as no surprise that flower decorations were strictly “Made in Sanremo”. Several prizes were awarded: the “Dietro le Quinte” (i.e. behind the scenes) for authors to Danilo Ciotti, the “Mister Blogger” to Davide Maggio and a special award to Toto Cutugno. See you in 2019 for the next edition of this yearly national rite.
