Excellent news from the Ligurian eco-sustainable scene. Genoa has just hosted (May 24th-26th ) the first edition of the “Food&Green Village”, dedicated to sustainability and jointly organized by the Agenzia di promozione turistica “In Liguria”, Regione Liguria and the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa under the auspices of the Ministero delle Politiche agricole alimentari forestali e del turismo. An “experiential cultural village” focusing on food, sustainable products, events and edutainment opportunities, not to forget about a contest among young regional chefs. Attendance of the PDO Riviera Ligure EVO Protection Consortium was multifold and included guided tastings of the 3 PDO geographical subareas (i.e. Riviera dei Fiori, Riviera del Ponente Savonese, Riviera di Levante). Furthermore, PDO Riviera Ligure EVO was one of the protagonists of the “Food and sustainability” roundtable participated by Professor Umberto Curti, food history and marketing expert and consultant of the PDO Consortium itself. Professor Curti also introduced the “Oliveti aperti” June initiative promoted by the Consortium in collaboration with the Qualivita Foundation. On June 15th-16th 33 members of the Consortium will welcome guests and provide an array of events, tasting, tours, cooking lessons etc.
