The two designations of Ligurian origin, DOP Riviera Ligure Olive Oil and DOP Genoese Basil are playing at home.
The two Protection Consortia are participating together in the 156th edition of the Mostra del Tigullio to be held in Chiavari next 20 to 23 July. At the joint stand, consumers learn about, taste and purchase DOP Riviera Ligure-Riviera di Levante products along with bunches of Genoese Basil.
The stand will be in the Food Section of the fair, in an area enlivened by collateral events of particular importance such as the semi-finals of the world pesto in mortar championships, cooking demonstrations by W. Bianchi, the initiatives of the Chef Dentone and those of the Accademia dei Sapori of Lavagna.
“I wish to thank Vice-President Francesco Bruzzo who, together with the companies of the Tigullio area, will liven up the stand and explain the differences between a common extra-virgin olive oil and DOP Riviera Ligure Olive Oil. The added value offered to the consumer is the guarantee of a control and certification process based on the traceability of the Ligurian supply chain and the qualitative analysis of the oil which earns the numbered collar of the Protection Consortium,” said Carlo Siffredi, President of the DOP Riviera Ligure Olive Oil Protection Consortium.
