In light of its great success in 2010, AICIG (Italian Association of Geographical Indication Consortia) will participate in the 2012 edition of CIBUS with a stand dedicated to promoting the protected-origin quality.
AICIG’s presence at CIBUS will be organized in close cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies.
The exhibit area will cover about 700 m² in Pavilion 6, Stand B058, of the Parma Trade Fair and will include all the main Italian DOP and IGP products and the most important direct and indirect operators in the agro-alimentary sector. They will be organized in large thematic area to make the various types of products immediately recognizable and providing buyers and the public the most interactive experience possible through daily guided tasting and educational events.
In addition, a space reserved for presentations and press conferences will provide information and focus sessions with well-known Italian and international personalities.
The Ministry will also be present in the stand with several corners dedicated to government agencies and operating companies that have decided to participate in the show. In particular, there will be representatives from the Agricultural and Food Policy Command of the Carabinieri, the Italian Forestry Corps, the Central Inspectorate for the Protection of Quality and the Suppression of Fraud in Agro-Alimentary Products, The Agency for Agricultural Subsidies, the National Institute of Agricultural Economics, the Institute for the Agro-Alimentary Development and the Service Institute for the Agriculture and Food Market.
There will also be representatives from the Italian Online Commodities Exchange, a company belonging to the Chamber of Commerce system, which will present the various financial services available to industry operators.
In this regard, AICIG’s President Giuseppe Liberatore said: “After the success of the 2010 edition, we are very happy to be able to continue our cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies. Other important industry operators have accepted our invitation and will be present with us at CIBUS. In fact, in the current difficult economic scenario, it seems that a constructive synergy between the government and industry is essential for supporting Italian agro-alimentary competitiveness and allows us to offer the international market a compact, homogeneous and strong image of the world of our DOP and IGP products”.
The four days of the AICIG show will offer a full programme of events and activities dedicated to buyers, the public and students from professional hospitality schools: in fact, the education of young people working in the food and wine industry is also a strategic lever for promoting and enhancing the value of the great products of Italian agriculture.
